Description

Our mission is to decarbonize the "hard-to-abate" heavy industrial sectors of the world economy with a new class of electrolyzers. Advanced Ionics is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our growing team that is dedicated to developing transformational “green hydrogen” industrial electrolyzer systems.

You’ll be responsible for designing and optimizing bipolar plates and manifolds to maximize the performance and efficiency of electrolyzer stacks. This includes conducting simulations, designing prototypes, and working with manufacturing teams to produce final products.

You’re the right candidate for this job if you enjoy workplaces where everyone has a voice, if you’re passionate about solving climate change through complex and wonky markets, and if you’re willing propose a new idea, write a memo, code a script, and turn a wrench to accomplish the team’s mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and optimize designs for bipolar plates and manifolds for electrolyzer stacks
  • Work with the Multiphysics modeling team in to conduct simulations and modeling to evaluate and refine designs
  • Develop prototypes and perform testing with cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs can be produced at scale and low cost
  • Continuously improve designs and processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Evaluate methods to mitigate corrosion and work with the materials team and third-parties to develop coatings if necessary
  • Design and execute experiments with statistically-backed methods
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to electrolyzer stack design

Where We Are and What We Offer:

  • This is a full-time position
  • Competitive, negotiable salary
  • Vesting options for equity in a venture-backed, climate-tech startup
  • Health and retirement benefits, with flexible options
