Description

This Tour Guide position provides our guests with a fun and educational tour of the Sedona area in our beautiful open top PanoramaVan. We want to bring the landscape and area to life by sharing information on a variety of topics including cultural and natural history, plants and animals, archeology, geology and other fun facts. Safety is critically important and our Guides are safety minded, inspecting, and operating their vehicles on the highways in compliance with all Laws, Regulations, and Company Policies and Procedures. Our focus in on providing a great guest experience!

Qualifications

  • CDL with passenger endorsement is required to conduct tours in the PanoramaVan
  • Defensive driving skills and a driver’s license clear of major moving violations.
  • Effective communication skills: energetic, outgoing, entertaining speaker.
  • Team player that is self-motivated and takes initiative.
  • Passionate about the outdoors with an interest in flora, fauna, history, archaeology, and geology.
  • Able to endure weather extremes in a physical-oriented job.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Is courteous to all users of Forest Service, National Parks, and other lands we operate on.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Consistently and carefully inspects, operates, and cleans their vehicles repetitive motion involves climbing in and out of the van, reaching overhead and across at chest level, bending from the waist.
  • Able to handle demanding weather extremes including temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 110 degrees.
  • Able to work up to 8 hours/day (tour time and vehicle preparation/washing). Generally, one hour break would be given on such a day.
  • Assists customers in and out of the vehicle.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time while driving.
  • Able to conduct tours that may involve a short hike or guiding on a walking path with guests.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly to provide quality customer service and required safety mechanics
  • Ability to perform CPR/First Aid up to their level of training. Training will be provided upon hire.
  • Maintain efficient, daily contact and adequate radio communication with the reservation staff to assure timely tour departures.
  • Safely operates vehicle through challenging city traffic in all types of weather conditions, while crafting entertaining and informative tours.
  • Lifting to 35 lbs. (water jugs, inspection equipment, washing equipment)
