As a member of the Veteran's Services Department Security Team, the Residential Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for a Veterans temporary residential home. The Residential Monitor works under the direction of the Security Manager.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor facility security and access in 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.
- Welcome and orient new residents to facility layout
- Monitor surveillance cameras for infractions
- Maintain an activities log
- Coordinate emergency responses to crises in the facility
- Write incident reports on infractions of community guidelines
- Read, review, and write email to and from fellow staff members
- Complete and process resident intake and discharge paperwork
- Document client activities and meeting attendance
- Conduct and record freezer and refrigerator temperature checks
- Maintain medication log and monitor medication consumption as prescribed
- Perform emergency cleanup of the facility as required to maintain a safe environment
- Conduct monthly checks of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors
- Conduct and regulate monthly fire drills for the facility and its members
- Issue and manage facility parking permits
- Conduct urinalysis and process results
- Conduct and participate in shift change meetings
