What the  Program Coordinator, Global Outreach  does 

The Program Coordinator, Global Outreach position is key in assisting AGU accomplish its mission to promote discovery in Earth and Space science for the benefit of humanity by being operational in focus.

The Program Coordinator, Global Outreach position primarily supports the coordination and development of global initiatives, supports and tracks strategic partnerships, and supports ongoing or short-term projects of the Executive Office.

As a member of the Executive Office and reporting to the Director of Global Outreach Programs, the incumbent in this role will also work closely with the Executive Vice President of Strategic Leadership and Global Outreach as well as other members of the Executive Office.

•    Provides coordination support for the Global Geoscience Societies Initiative, which includes scheduling and supporting the Leadership Committee as well as Task Teams Meetings. Maintains operations of the Initiative’s online portal, and coordinates AGU’s contributions to the portal, for the benefit of all societies around the world. 
•    Coordinates support of AGU partnership operations and assists in the implementation of partnership processes across AGU. 
•    Plans, coordinates, and supports logistics for in-person and virtual Global Engagement Committee meetings, including travel and reimbursement management, conference center collaboration, off-site dinner coordination, and meeting preparation and management.
•    Assists in the planning and execution of global activities at AGU Meetings, including Fall Meeting, Ocean Sciences, as well as other partnership meetings.
•    Supports internal cross-functional integration of global activities. , this  includes identifying dates for team meetings, sending out calendar invitations, calling for topics, collecting and compiling slides and information, and running the meetings.
•    In coordination with key members of the Executive Office, supports the international travel planning process for AGU delegations.
•    Assists in identifying potential volunteers from outside the U.S. for Committees, Editors, peer reviewers, and other special assignments.
•    Performs supporting tasks, including research; strategic and annual planning/reporting; maintenance of volunteer information in and outside netForum and of email distribution lists; collection of information.
•    Supports other short-term projects of the Executive Office, such as the Partnership Task Force.
•    Provides back-up support for Directors and other team members, including managing calendars and scheduling meetings for the CEO, EVPs and other executives.
•    Supports other Executive Office directors and team members as needed.
•    Other duties as assigned.

What the  Program Coordinator, Global Outreach brings to the team

•    Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Management or other related field with 3+ years of experience in program administration. 
•    International program management experience is a plus. 
•    Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly preferred. 
•    Previous experience working in a membership organization environment preferred.
•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including staff, senior management, members of the Board of Directors, and outside organizations. 
•    Excellent writing and editing skills. 
•    Outstanding project management skills.
•    Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to function under demanding situations and deadlines, while demonstrating solid judgment.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
•    Strong time management and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and ability to manage complex logistics.
•    Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; experience with WordPress, HTML, and Photoshop is desirable. 
•    Ability to travel.
