StoneMor Mortuary Science Scholarship Policy
StoneMor, Inc. is excited to announce our Mortuary Science Scholarship Program. We will be partnering with high schools, universities and community colleges in order to provide scholarship awards to selected individuals who meet certain criteria as listed below. The goal of StoneMor's Mortuary Science Scholarship program is to help further the education of future funeral professionals, by offering financial support while also creating career opportunities within StoneMor.
Who is Eligible:
· Any part-time or full-time, current, or future mortuary student with an interest in pursuing a career in funeral services
· Must be enrolled and/or accepted in an accredited mortuary science program by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) and have the application submitted before the scholarship deadline OR must be a current StoneMor employee interested in advancing their career in mortuary science.
· If currently enrolled in a mortuary science program you must have a 2.5 GPA or above.
· If the applicant is a current StoneMor employee, the employee must have completed six (6) months of employment with StoneMor**(please note that if awarded a scholarship through this program, the employee would not be eligible to receive tuition reimbursement concurrently).
Requirements and How to Apply:
Applicants must apply electronically through the link on our Careers Portal. The application will include basic application questions, an official transcript and a 500-800 word written essay or submitted in the form of a short video.

Applicants will choose one or two (maximum) of the above core values and describe how you implement them in your life on a regular basis. This should be typed, saved in a PDF format, and uploaded with the application submission for review.
Scholarship Amount
StoneMor will be granting $8,000 per student for ten (10) selected individuals on an annual basis. Scholarship funds are to be used at the students discretion for educational purposes. Please note that scholarship awards will only be granted one time per individual.
Deadlines and Selection Process
Applicants will have from September 1st through December 31st to submit their application. During the application review and selection period, interviews may be conducted either in person or virtually by our scholarship committee. Winners will be reviewed and announced in February. Funds to be distributed in early August.
Commitment:
The StoneMor Mortuary Science Scholarship Program is a good-faith scholarship, therefore scholarship funds are not contingent upon accepting employment with StoneMor.
If the scholarship recipient is a StoneMor Employee, the employee must commit to continue their regular full-time service for a minimum of one year following receipt of their scholarship award. In the event that an employee voluntarily separates from the company prior to one year following receipt of the scholarship (or terminates for cause), the employee will be required to repay StoneMor the full amount they were awarded for the scholarship.. Repayment will not be required if the termination is due to layoff or involuntary termination for any reason other than cause.
Scholarship recipients will also be assigned a mentor from StoneMor who would periodically check in on the individual throughout the duration of their education program.
