Position Summary

This position will support the administrative needs of the international teacher program within Participate Learning, and will report to the Manager of Teacher Resources.  Day-to-day duties may include answering inquiries, data entry, file management, visa processing support, travel arrangements, assisting with program events, and outreach to program participants. May be required to organize/analyze data and provide reports as needed. Participate Learning’s teacher program recruits, selects and supports over 1200 international teachers working in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. 


Essential Functions

Teacher Resources support: 

  • Prepare and send UPS shipments.

  • Provide support for teachers’ J-1 visa processing.

  • Enter data and generate reports.

  • Communicate with participants of the program via telephone and email.

  • Provide logistical assistance at meetings and events, including preparing materials & handouts, assisting presenters, organizing materials.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements.

Legal - Visa support

  • Prepare and send UPS shipments.

  • Customer service: answering inquiries/phone calls.

  • Data entry 

  • File management

  • Provide support for teachers’ J-1 visa processing.

  • Revision and review of reports.

Key Competencies

  • 1-2 years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude and be able to work effectively in a team

  • Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow direction

  • Skill to problem solve independently, using knowledge of Participate Learning’s policies and guidelines as well as own work experience and judgment and to identify appropriate resources.

  • Spanish and/or Mandarin language skills nice to have, but not required 

  • Use of office equipment including, but not limited to, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax, etc. 

  • Proficient use of MS Office, Google Suites and other platforms

  •  Attention to detail and excellent organization skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and difficult interactions in a professional and courteous manner
