The role

Reporting to the President and CEO and part of the YSS management team, the YSS of Hamilton County Community Based Center (CBC) Director and Mental Health Therapist/Clinical Supervisor position combines two roles to provide overall leadership of YSS of Hamilton County and oversight of the Adel and Dean Bowden Youth and Family Clinic in Webster City.

The CBC Director role will lead the development and execution of the community engagement plan, staff the YSS of Hamilton County Community Advisory Board, provide financial oversight, manage marketing and public relations, and deepen partnerships with community organizations and individual donors and stakeholders.

The Mental Health Therapist (temporarily or independently licensed) will provide therapy to individuals and families. If qualified, this position could hold the title of Clinical Supervisor and provide oversight and supervision to other YSS clinicians.

Few positions combine community and clinical practices in a leadership role with the opportunity to create a significant impact.

A day in the life of the CBC Director and Mental Health Therapist can look like

• Leading, managing, and creating accountability with the team
• Providing individual, family, and group mental health services and clinical supervision.
• Providing program and clinical oversight and integrity.
• Developing community engagement and advisory board.

• Supervising Officer Manager/Client Services Officer and providing clinical and/or administrative supervision to assigned mental health therapists, addiction counselors, and BHIS providers.

What youll need

• A masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology with a current license to practice the profession in the state of Iowa is required.
• At least one year of experience in individual, group, and family therapy, and formal training in the field of behavioral health is required.
• At least five years of related business or nonprofit experience is required.
• Focus on results with experience moving others to action, no matter their position.
• A high-energy personality and relationship builder, demonstrating a clear presence in engaging with others.
• Coachable and self-aware open to feedback and always working to improve his or her craft.
• Collaborative, and skilled at working with people from different departments, and different backgrounds.
• Entrepreneurial, bringing new and different ideas to the table and then taking initiative to make them happen.
• Great communication skills both in writing and in person in a variety of settings.

Preferred:

• At least two years are required for independently licensed therapists.
• At least three years of being fully licensed and providing individual mental health therapy, to become a supervisor of temporarily licensed clinicians.
• Experience providing clinical supervision to temporary licensed clinicians
• Knowledge and training in the identification and treatment of substance use disorders are also desirable.
