Landing Gear Manager

  • Develop and Manage Landing Gear workflow and schedule to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveries.
  • Manage Landing Gear department team members to ensure a coordinated completion of each event.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts and facilitate plans to mitigate impacts/ risks.
  • Manage event reporting and customer updates.
  • Manage events quoting and approval process.
  • Develop continuous improvement plans for landing gear operations.
  • Define Landing Gear detail cost build up and BOM’s. Identify and develop opportunities to reduce costs through-out the repair and overhaul process.
  • Provide detailed analysis of PMA opportunities for high dollar parts. Plan for PMA parts usage and assist in PMA development opportunities.
  • Streamline Work Order Procedures and Travelers, review existing process/workflow and make recommendations to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Identify BER Thresholds and options to reclaim parts through the development of internal and or external repairs.
  • Identify repair vendors and/or facilitate internal repairs schemes. Review existing outside repair providers and make recommendations for improvements, changes and/or internal development of repairs that are currently completed by outside vendors.
  • Make recommendations for streamlined pricing and billing strategies for Overhauls, Rentals and Exchanges.
  • Provide analysis and facilitate implementation of additional Landing Gear capabilities to Nextant Leadership.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience working in an aircraft component overhaul environment.
  • A&P License is preferred.
  • Previous operational leadership experience.
  • Understanding of FAA Repair Station and manufacturing record requirements.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and special processes required.
  • Advanced understanding of FAA component overhaul process.
  • Understanding and ability to read and follow component repair and overhaul instructions
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and leadership skills.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Windows suites).
