About the Job

Primary Responsibilities 

  • User Research assisting in designing, executing, and reporting on early-stage research (contextual inquiry) through user validation research (summative) on physical and/or digital products

  • Translating results of user research into actionable design recommendations

  • Contributing to HF documentation (task analysis, uFMEA, use specification, etc.)

  • Communicating HFE perspectives to cross-functional teams

  • Working within existing FDA/International HF standards and guidelines

  • Interacting with wide range of study participants from patients to surgeons in a wide range of use environments

 

About You

Requirements

  • BA, BS, MA, or PhD in human factors, HCI, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, cognitive psychology, or a related discipline

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable with global travel (role may include up to 30% travel), either on your own or as part of a team

  • Located and authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • You are passionate about user experience and design research, as evidenced by your career and education choices.

  • You are familiar with how to plan and conduct research.

  • You have experience translating research findings into actionable recommendations.

  • You are familiar with FDA Human Factors standards and guidelines.

  • You are committed to high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.

  • You are curious about new territories and driven to learn from others. 

  • You are comfortable speaking in front of groups of people. 

  • You have the ability to act with an inclusive mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
