POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Marketing Director supports the Bank’s initiatives to grow the brand through multi-channel marketing strategy. The position provides input and direction for improving the Bank’s visibility and growing brand awareness of the company. The Director must be a self-starter, able to multitask and be proficient with time management skills. The Director will adhere to the Bank’s professional image and be a creative thinker with fresh ideas.  As a brand ambassador, they can look through the lens of the customer to ensure quality with a concise message to the public and can understand the uniqueness of each market in which the Bank has a presence. The Director will design marketing plans to attract and retain new customers; research  the competitive marketplace and advise  on strategic marketing positioning; identify and recommend competitive best practices; manage  promotions and excel at internal communications to achieve goals and serve our customers internally and externally. The Marketing Director leads a dynamic team of marketers in digital marketing, social media, advertisement, publication, editorial, and creating compelling collateral to support all business lines and their stated goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • Develops and executes strategic plans; supports and monitors budgets.

  • Develops   marketing collateral, publications, and letters etc. to both lending and deposit channels within the Bank.

  • Manages the Bank’s public website and the investor relations website for optimum customer and shareholder interaction and education.

  • Hires new talent, provides training and cross training to employees; manages and coaches direct reports/department managers to ensure all phases of their roles and responsibilities are achieved.

  • Provides professional development opportunities to direct reports; assists mangers with personnel issues, performance evaluations, training, and coaching and supports their growth within the Bank.

  • Participates in community-related activities to promote the Bank, looks for and participates in networking activities within the community to promote the Bank’s brand.

  • Facilitates reporting of marketing campaign results, project status updates, competitive analysis, and business forecasts.

  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the Bank's products and services.

  • Creates and edits media announcements about the Bank – is the Bank’s primary media contact; serves as the primary point of contact for public relations inquiries. Shares ideas and vision for improving visibility in the respective markets we serve.

  • Plans and execute campaigns for corporate promotion, launching of new product lines, etc.

  • Monitors progress and submits performance reports to Marketing Executive.

  • Conducts general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitors’ marketing movements.

  • Serves as the organization's agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and build strategic partnerships across all business lines and within the community.

  • Ensures brand consistency across all channels, web, print and retail, commercial and home lending locations.

  • Manages marketing vendors and serves as a project team member.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Manager or a Marketing Director, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; minimum of 7+ years related experience and/or training. Knowledge of marketing strategies with an emphasis on digital marketing, advertising, and public relations.

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills

  • Must be a team player and adhere to our core values.

  • Must be an independent worker with minimal supervision.

  • Has a strong ability to reset priorities and adapts to changing direction when warranted.

  • Possesses the ability to lead a team and demonstrates positive leadership in this role.

  • Public Relations expertise.

  • Excellent leadership and organizing skills.

  • Management skills are required – ability to lead a team across different channels.

  • Analytical and creative thinking.

  • Proficient in current and online marketing techniques and best practices.

  • Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics, etc.) and Google and Bing Ads.

  • Customer-oriented approach with aptitude.

  • Cross departmental outreach and collaboration.

  • Must be able to travel to branches and departments within and outside of Washington as requested.

  • Must be able to work occasional nights or weekends at partner or community functions.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Remain up-to-date and comply with regulatory requirements and bank policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the bank.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • A working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Teams.

  • Working knowledge of workflow software systems such as Monday.com.

  • Fluency in MS Office software.

  • Must be willing and able to learn and embrace new technologies as identified and adopted by the Bank.

  • A working knowledge of CRM systems is a plus.
