DESCRIPTION

We are a company that helps developmentally disabled adults gain their independence. We are on a 1 to 3 ration (1 staff to 3 clients). You will be teaching them life skills such as money management, social skills, hygiene, etc. We have fun Fridays, We also go out into the community, sing karaoke, etc. You will also be assisting toileting (helping clients to the bathroom, helping them onto the toilet, wiping). Every client has goals to help them become more independent, you will be tracking on how the clients did on their goals every day. This is an interactive position that requires creativity.

POSITION SUMMARY
Oversee developmentally disabled adults in ADC Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Implement activities as scheduled.
  • Instruct clients in the performance of work, life skills, job skills training and interpersonal skills development.
  • Maintains accurate daily documentation and reports.
  • Data entry in QuickBase and Case Magic.
  • Assist clients in toileting and menstrual and other care as needed.
  • Attend training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist in creative, positive environment.
  • Report safety concerns, issues immediately to Supervisor.
  • Assist in client medical emergencies.
  • Make sure that staff maintains a professional, positive work environment.
  • Completes all documentation as required. Follows all safety procedures
  • Attendance and punctuality.
  • Stay in assigned workstation, area, or room.
  • Take duty-free breaks & lunches, as scheduled.
  • Clock-in & out with Paycom punch equipment with fingerprint or pin number.
  • Refrain from gossip, or any other activity in which will result in disruption of the workplace.
  • Sexual or any other discriminatory harassment of any form of another person, client, or employee is prohibited, and a violation of company policy.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to push/pull respectively up to 50 lbs

  • At no time are staff and clients to engage in inappropriate and/or sexual relationships. Staff will be reported to authorities and immediately discharged.
  • Calling a client by a nickname, pet name, or of any dialect is unprofessional, and not acceptable in the workplace.
