Wyffels Hybrids Research Department is seeking motivated individuals to help with pollinating this summer. Work will start around the beginning of July and last 2-4 weeks. You will be hand pollinating corn in our research test plot at our Geneseo, IL location.
Duties Include:
- When tassels begin to emerge you will be covering ear shoots to protect them from pollen
- Once the tassels are producing pollen, bags will be placed on them to catch the shedding tassels pollen
- You will pour the collected pollen from the bags over the designated silks
- Once the pollen is poured you will cover it with a bag and staple it around stalk to secure it
