Dietician – Per Diem
Northern Rivers has an opening for a Per Diem Dietician averaging ten hours a month to assist in guiding our food and nutrition program for residential youth clients. As a Dietician, you will be responsible for the consultation and review of food and nutritional services to provide nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the children residing in our residential housing. You will report to the Director of Food Services and you will work remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Encourage healthy eating habits for sustainability outside the agency
- Complete 11-day initial assessments per OMH regulations
- Develop menus for special diets (e.g.: gluten free, diabetic) agency wide.
- Work following the standards set for New York State (NYS) Departments of Mental Hygiene, Office of Children and Family Services, Office of Mental Health, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nutrition
- Two years of related experience
- Eligible for registration with the Commission for Dietetics
- Required to have or be eligible to obtain certification in New York State for Dietetics and Nutrition
