SUMMARY
The American Sign Language (ASL) Intern assists Creation Museum Deaf and HOD (Hard-of-Hearing) guests by providing ASL interpretation of daily live programming on a regular basis, ensuring that our live programs are accessible. The intern would interpret for live programming on Fridays at the Creation Museum and Saturdays at the Ark Encounter. The intern will also have the opportunity to prepare on the clock for the various live programs and videos at the AiG attractions. Additionally, an interpreter mentor will be provided.
This position should display our Core Values of SERVE when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Interpret live programs in Legacy Hall or Answers Center throughout the day, two days a week for guests (Fridays at Museum, Saturdays at Ark)
- Interpret 4D Theater or other videos around live programs at the Museum if needed around live programs (upon request on Fridays).
- Interpret Ararat Ridge Zoo live programs and/or Ark or Answers Center videos if needed around live programs (upon request on Saturdays).
- Potential to interpret on other days of the week, if requested by guests, and if available.
- Prepare for Ark Encounter and Creation Museum interpretation during the week.
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
- And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
