American Academy (AA) has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant to the Coordinators within our Student Support Services Department (SSS).  The Assistant to Coordinators reports to the Director of SSS and is responsible for scheduling, assisting with filing and organization, assisting with special projects, coordinating department events and assisting with the various facets of the department.  This person supports our Gifted and Talented (GT) and English Language Development (ELD Coordinators and others as assigned.)

Scheduling:  Manage calendars for the GT and ELD Coordinators; as well as calendars for the entire SSS department.

Organization: Assist with filing, communication, and other organizational tasks as needed; Take and distribute notes for meetings as needed; Assist with correspondence as needed

Special Projects: Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Coordinators

Collaborate with Assistant to Principals for interdepartmental communication

Positive Contribution to School Environment:  Provide timely and clear communication; Respond to staff and parent emails within 48 hours; Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Maintain integrity with respect to hierarchy in the organization and respect for confidentiality; Demonstrate professionalism;

Demonstrate positive relationships with colleagues


High School graduate or equivalent; Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Minimum job-related experience; Experience in an educational environment preferred

Strong communication skills

Detail oriented; Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Office and Computer skills:  word processing/spreadsheets (Microsoft Office), email and calendar (Outlook)
