This important position keeps the production plant running by removing waste paper from each department and dumping it into our Baler system. The bales are then picked up by truck and recycled into new paper! This person must be a good problem solver and able to work alone, in addition to self-motivated and most importantly able to safely drive a forklift. There is some heavy lifting involved as well as learning and understanding the baling machinery. Some advice for someone learning the job for the first time is to learn the machine thoroughly and understand the mechanics.  This person must be able to lift a minimum of 100lbs. The Baler needs to pay attention to details because of the variables they are managing while moving raw material waste from cart, to baler machine, and finally loading the truck with finished bales. The Baler takes pride in knowing that they are helping everyone else at Sonderen complete their jobs.

This custom manufacturing business is also very humbling in that you learn something new every single day. Manufacturing is exciting and can be unpredictable. We all do the best we can but at the end of the day we must give ourselves some grace. Although we strive for perfection, we are not perfect people and do not make a perfect product. However we take pride in seeing our quality product on the store shelf. We are lifelong learners. We persevere through tough times and are always looking for ways to improve. We love to laugh and joke and celebrate success. If these are characteristics you embody, it is likely you would be a great fit for our team. Are you up for the challenge??
