Nutrition Program Coordinator

The Nutrition Program Coordinator works at the Health Campus under the supervision of the Nutrition Program Supervisor and in conjunction with the other Nutrition Program Coordinator and Chef to support both nutrition programs – Food Pantry and Hot Meals. Each coordinator will be cross trained to regularly work in both programs.


The Nutrition Program Coordinator will:

  • Schedule, supervise and train volunteers; ensure proper log-in and log-out, coordinate scheduling with the Nutrition Program Supervisor and reporting of volunteer hours to Volunteer Coordinator
  • Ensure in-kind and cash donation logs are updated at end of each day, ensure volunteers are trained in logging, temping, and competing of all programs forms in both food pantry & hot meal
  • Work with other staff/volunteers to maintain the cleanliness of the program areas in full compliance with City of Dallas Health Department Standards
  • Ensure the food pantry remains current with all Health Department certifications and remains in compliance with all city/state/federal regulations
  • Build and foster relationships with clients to remain abreast of client needs
  • Assist in establishing and fostering a positive working relationship with all vendors
  • Assist with pick-up of donations in company van when needed
  • Coordinate the cooking and production of lunch in Hot Meals as scheduled
  • Respect privacy rights and maintain and encourage confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Computer proficiency
  • Good attention to detail, ability to multitask, and effective communication skills
  • Maintain current Food Service Manager certificate (can be completed after employment begins)
  • Basic awareness of diverse groups, including: racial, ethnic, religious (in relationship to dietary restrictions) and the LGBTQ community (diversity training will be provided)
