JOB TITLE:
• CNC Machinist
JOB PURPOSE:
Manufacture high-quality products while maintaining accurate inventory counts in a safe efficient manner.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate CNC machines or other equipment in a safe efficient manner.
• Setup machines, manufacture fixtures and other work-holding devices
• Keep accurate documentation of good and reject parts.
• Perform value-added operations.
• Keep accurate records of time allocated per job.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Read and understand work instructions.
• Produce product based on work instructions and quality requirements.
• Inspect parts for conformance to print and traveler requirements.
• Operate pallet jack.
• Keep an accurate count of good and reject product.
• Record reject conditions.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Operate safely while maintaining equipment and tools.
• Leave detailed tie-ins for shift operators to effectively continue production.
• Running DMG Mori Machines From Horizontal to Vertical and Lathe 3.
AUTHORITY:
• Determine product defects or out of tolerance condition, notify quality and/or supervisor to have product corrected or production stopped if defects exist.
• Train new hires and apprentices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Effective communication:
o Able to read and write English.
o Able to keep accurate quantity records.
o Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Basic computer skills, Master Cam and experience a plus.
• Manual dexterity to handle parts and fixturing.
• Team oriented.
• Efficient and action driven.
• Motivated self-starter.
• Dependable with reliable attendance.
• Able to stand for 10 to 12 hours.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to see with 20/20 vision to assess cosmetic requirements.
• Manual machining experience a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in a contract manufacturing organization preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• On- the –job training as well as trade school ( 4+ years )
