Under the general direction of the SAMHSA Native Connections Program Manager, the Public Health Specialist will provide a full range of administrative and health promotion support services. Duties include but not limited to: working with a sub-awardee through planning awareness events, Conducting Assessments, disseminating assessment findings & developing plans to strengthen tribal public health programs/services. The Public Health Specialist will serve cooperatively with the Tribal Epidemiology Center (TEC) Core Program & Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) Native Connections grant.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in public health or related field, or 2 year's experience in Public Health

Experience: 1 year experience in tribal public health preferred

Special Skill/Qualifications: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; decision making and time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects; self-motivation skills; work effectively under pressure; ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external partners; ability to interact professionally with the public; proficient in Microsoft office.
