JOB title:  Assembler

REPORTS TO:  Production Manager

Job Classification:   Non-Exempt

Job Status:   Full Time; 6AM - 4:30PM

JOB Purpose:  

Manufacture high-quality plastic assembled products while maintaining accurate inventory counts in a safe efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Identify product defects, notify quality and/or supervisor to have defected condition corrected or production stopped if defect persists.
  • While working in Assembly, operate assembly equipment and hand tools in a safe efficient manner.  While operating machines, operate injection molding machine or other equipment in a safe efficient manner.
  • Keep accurate documentation of good and reject parts.
  • Perform value-added operations and package manufactured products.
  • Keep accurate records of time allocated per job.
  • Read and understand operator work instructions.
  • Produce product based on operator work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Package product based on instructions.
  • Operate pallet jack.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of manufacturing components and finished goods.
  • Keep an accurate count of good and reject product.
  • Record reject conditions.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Operate safely while caring for equipment and tools.
  • Operate equipment such as ultrasonic welder, part marker as needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective communication:
    • Able to read and write English.
    • Able to keep accurate quantity records.
    • Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate plastic parts.
  • Team oriented.
  • Efficient and action driven.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Dependable with reliable attendance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a contract manufacturing organization preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include able to see with 20/20 vision to assess cosmetic requirements; close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
