The Talent Acquisition & Employee Engagement Manager will design strategies that result in an engaged workforce. They will develop and troubleshoot processes and procedures that produce a high-quality workplace experience, from recruitment to offboarding. They will focus on three critical areas: talent acquisition and onboarding, professional development, and employee engagement. Additionally, they will oversee our internship and volunteer program and assist with special projects as needed. This is a key position on the People Operations team, and the successful candidate will take a proactive and engaged approach to the role and their interaction with employees across the organization, both in person and remote. The successful candidate will have a customer service mindset and be motivated to make a positive impact on the workplace.

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, People Operations & HR

LOCATION: San Francisco, onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

    • Design, develop, and manage an ongoing recruitment strategy that yields a broad, diverse, and qualified candidate pool, including our social media communication strategy for job postings.

    • Establish organization-wide best practices and training for recruitment, testing, and interviewing.

    • Counsel managers on candidate selection and core competency-based interviewing, and conduct periodic training sessions for hiring managers.

    • Develop and maintain regular reporting procedures, metrics, and analytical data to identify trends in recruitment efforts and hiring outcomes.

    • Coordinate with the Senior Director of People Operations, Talent Acquisition & People Operations Manager, and hiring managers to ensure that job descriptions and positions align with internal job levels and are filled within budgeted salary ranges, and that all job descriptions are up to date.

    • Partner with prospective candidates and hiring managers, providing both with a high level of service and support.

    • Set up and host intake meetings with hiring managers to review recruitment and interview processes and provide regular updates.

  • Professional Development

    • Develop, curate, and manage an employee training and development program.

    • Utilizing Paycom's learning tool, develop and curate learning pathways on a variety of topics.

    • Coordinate with the Talent Acquisition Manager & People Operations Manager to create and manage a volunteer program.

  • Employee Engagement & Other Responsibilities

    • Hands-on management of our annual summer internship program, including position postings, onboarding, and weekly Lunch and Learn topics.

    • Conduct annual employee engagement survey and periodic pulse check surveys, and report on results.

    • Design and propose strategies to increase employee engagement.

    • Coordinate with other members of the People Operations team to host monthly wellness, DEI, and other events.

    • Play an active role on the People Operations team, providing updates on recruitment efforts and contributing to HR initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent, with an HR or organizational development emphasis preferred.

  • Five years of proven and relevant work experience in an HR capacity, with an emphasis on recruitment, workplace experience, or learning and development.

  • Experience with human resource information systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems (ATS). Paycom experience is a big plus.

  • Experience with various sourcing methods, interviewing techniques, candidate vetting, and salary negotiation.

  • Experience with survey software such as CultureAmp or Qualtrics is a big plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while engaging great time-management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.

  • Strong computer skills; experience with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms).

  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with professionalism.

  • A proactive "can do" attitude and a sense of humor.

  • Experience at a large nonprofit or social justice organization is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to regularly commute to our San Francisco headquarters.
