Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is excited to offer a fundraising career opportunity as the Partnerships Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for identification and cultivation of donors primarily from the business community in the Habitat Charlotte Region’s service area. This person will work in collaboration with the Partnerships and Community Engagement team to meet, and potentially exceed, annual fund-raising goals. This role will require someone who is comfortable speaking publicly and passionately about Habitat’s work -- expressing the deep commitment our organization has to serving our community. We believe everyone deserves a decent place to call “home,” and we know this is achievable through active, engaged, and informed relationships with our local partners.

 

Working to build homes, communities and hope in Charlotte and the surrounding area, Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region has partnered with more than 3,000 families since 1983. This year, we will help over 300 families through new home construction, recycling existing homes, critical home repair projects and financial literacy training. Job Description

 

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Identify, communicate with, cultivate, solicit, and steward active organizational donors and prospects.
  • Work in cooperation with Partnership Manager to meet, and potentially exceed, fundraising expectations and tasks.
  • Execute Habitat Charlotte Region’s current sponsorship process, ensuring all donors receive benefits and recognition in a timely manner, actively engaging them and continuing to move them through the development cycle.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, manage communication materials and collateral for Partnerships – both print and online.
  • Execute Partnerships stewardship plans.
  • Provide support and coordination for special events, as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining partnerships team key reports.
  • Represent Habitat in public settings, exercising discretion and judgment.
  • Work with board members, leadership and other key volunteers in fulfilling development goals.

 

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a fundraising role (or comparable non-profit professional setting).
  • Strong communication and organization skills; detail oriented.
  • Ability to speak publicly in front of large corporate, civic, and church groups to solicit financial and volunteer contributions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with excellence.
  • Command knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with relational databases preferred (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge or similar).
  • Key personality attributes: accuracy, enthusiasm for teamwork, positive and proactive attitude, critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical and organized.

  • Consistent and reliable attendance with ability to work on-site as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability work in office environment as needed which requires ability to speak, hear, with the visual and manual dexterity to manage papers, reports, and typing/ten-key.  Must embody the capacity to maintain the following for several hours at a time: use of personal computer or similar technology, phone, sitting as required.
  • Ability to read documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate in person, over the phone and/or via computer.
  • Lift, move and set up onboarding materials or other special employee events materials, which includes but is not limited to lifting up to 20lbs unassisted, stooping, kneeling, bending with the visual and manual dexterity to manage cords, connections and other equipment.   
  • Drive between locations in Charlotte metro area as needed.
