Position Overview

The Staffing Coordinator for Nebraska Book Company (NBC) is part of the human resources team and is responsible for finding the best talent and fulfilling the staffing needs of NBCs distribution center. This position will appropriately fulfill full-time, part-time and temporary staffing needs to meet business objectives as well as process NBCs seasonal Off-Premise Buyer team. This is a non-exempt, non-supervisory, entry-level position, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Primary Responsibilities include:
• Timely and accurately fulfilling the staffing needs of NBCs distribution center based on requests from the business
• Managing the job requisitions, postings and clearly communicating employer value proposition to build a robust pool of temp and part-time labor
• Scheduling and/or conducting initial phone interviews 
• Processing candidates and new hires through NBCs Applicant Tracking System and properly uploading necessary paperwork to NBCs HRIS
• Drafting and managing offer letters 
• Collaborating with HR and the business to develop creative recruiting strategies to improve the hiring process of our temporary and part-time workforce
• Attending career fairs with HR team
• Performing temp team member orientations and onboarding
• Establishing routine best practices for recruiting and onboarding staff
• Maintaining relationships with vendors to maximize requisition exposure
• Processing I9s
• Complying with all company personnel policies and practices as well as all federal, state, and local standards/requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, skills and abilities

• Excellent people person, able to communicate clearly and genuinely to both candidates and NBC leadership
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Should be highly adaptable and detail-oriented
• Creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively as well as independently
• Ability and desire to problem-solve, prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Extremely strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality

• One to three years of work experience related to human resources preferred
• Experience recruiting preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
