Position Summary

The Junior IT Engineer handles the tier-one requests and incidents coming through the Service Desk. These include the diagnosis, investigation, escalation, and resolution of hardware and software related issues (Mac and Windows). This position will support local and remote users working in the field as well as other offices. The ideal candidate should be energetic, personable, and possess a strong work ethic. This position reports to the Network Services Manager.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Log, assign, diagnose and resolve or escalate service desk requests
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of client hardware and software
  • Assist in the tracking of IT software and hardware assets
  • After hours work as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science desired
  • 2+ years of IT support experience desired
  • Ability to assist and support others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage Services Desk functions with limited supervision.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Accurate and attentive to details
  • Well organized

Physical Requirements

  • Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Travel will be less than 15%

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry computers and related peripherals.
