Prevention, Treatment and Outreach
During an Inpatient Internship, Interns will observe practical experience and apply the knowledge received from the classroom. They will explore different career paths and specialization that may suit their individual interests.
Intern hours have been allocated to several positions within the Inpatient Department based upon the credit hours of the Internship. This Internship is unpaid, however interns must be able to successfully complete fingerprinting and a background check. Interns will be responsible for tracking their hours. All hours must be approved by the assigned mentor. At no time will an Intern be considered In-Ratio and should always be accompanied by a member of the Tanager Place staff.
The Intern will have the opportunity to gain industry experience and technical knowledge within the following positions:
- Authorization Coordinator
- Inpatient Counselor/QIDP (Qualified Individuals with Disabilities Professional)
- Youth Service Worker
- Cottage Supervisor
- Crisis Intervention Specialist
- Education Coordinator
- Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
