Full Job Description

Perform clerical work at law office by providing assigned Attorneys with direct assistance, scheduling client appointments and organizing and maintaining all legal documents kept on-site. 

Responsibilities

  • Preparing court statements and forms
  • Transcribing lawyers’ audio files and written notes
  • Managing files and projects
  • Managing calendars and deadlines
  • Transcribing and proofreading correspondence and documents
  • Indexing and updating pleadings and discovery binders
  • Screening and directing telephone calls
  • Receiving and processing incoming mail
  • Creating and organizing files and assisting with document management
  • Drafting legal correspondence and emails

 

Qualifications

  • Familiar with legal terminology and documentation helpful
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a team of Attorneys and others in the organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Superior organization skills
  • Personable, proactive, self-starter with ability to work in a team environment
