We are seeking a Telemetry Monitoring Technician to enhance our healthcare team of innovated leaders.

Compensation: $19.00 - $24.00, DOE
Job Summary: Full-time night shift (1900-0730).
Department Description: Telemetry Central Monitoring resides on our Med-Surg/Critical Care unit yet monitors telemetry throughout the hospital. The Telemetry central monitoring tech plays a vital role on the multidisciplinary team and overall patient care.
Responsibilities: The ideal candidate with have the responsibility for monitoring telemetry throughout the hospital and must possess the ability to remain in focus with the task at hand despite the ever-present distractions of a busy nurses station.
- Independently observe and interpret cardiac rhythms and document them in patient’s medical record.
- Appropriately respond to all monitor alarms by reporting changes in rate/rhythm to nurse and/or physician for urgent and/or non-urgent intervention, and document changes in rhythm and rate.
- Document EKG waveforms in the patient records by recording measurements of heart rate, PR interval and QRs on rhythm strips, identifying rhythms such as NSR, SB, ST Asystole, SVT, A-Fib, A-Flutter, and VT, and Ensuring recorded rhythm strips are mounted and placed on patient’s chart after review by the nurse.
- Set-up and operate telemetry and electrocardiogram equipment for the unit and ensure monitor alarms are “on” when patient is on unit.
- Orient staff to central monitoring capability and role of Telemetry Monitor Tech.
- Perform clerical and other duties as assigned.
- Expert at using all functions of central monitoring equipment; able to troubleshoot to recognize monitoring the problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
