Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer

Position Summary:

Saint Andrew’s School is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer (AT) for the 2021-2022 academic year.  The full-time AT position is a yearlong, seasonal after-school position.  The AT will work under the direct supervision of the Head AT and the guidance of the Athletic Director (AD). Hours may vary but will equate to about 40 hours/week and will be primarily during weekday afternoons with the occasional Saturday commitment as needed.  The AT will work with both Middle School and Upper School athletes. This position will begin August 2021.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide athletic training services in accordance with all FL State regulations;
• Work closely and act as a liaison with students and their parents, physicians, coaches, school nurse and administrators to provide a full complement of athletic training health care services;
• Treatment and prevention of injuries through the application of modalities, prehab programs, and protective administration of tape, wraps, and bracing;
• Work with athletes and coaches to develop programs for athletes with injuries/ athletes who may need assistance progressing back to sport specific activity;
• Work collaboratively with the Head AT, the Athletic Department, and school nurse to ensure appropriate support for student-athletes, in accordance with all school policies and relevant state regulations;
• Administer baseline and post injury concussion testing/ evaluation to students as needed;                           
• Follow best practices and be familiar with current issues and developments in the athletic training field;   
• Maintain proper and up to date documentation of all evaluations and treatments of athletic injuries/ illness; 
• Assist the Head AT as needed;
• Assist the AD/ athletics program as needed;
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head AT or AD

Qualifications:

• NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification
• FL Athletic Trainer Licensure
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
