Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for research, analysis, planning, design, development, and testing of corporate aviation aircraft electrical systems
  • Assists in quoting, planning, and creating interface documents in support of aircraft modifications
  • Assembles aircraft data installation documents
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and the avionics modification teams
  • Prior knowledge of installations, modifications and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, engineering drawings is required
  • Assist with planning and routing of wiring harness maps and/or mock-ups
  • Assist with fabricating test cabling and bench test components
  • Assist avionics modification teams with power on checks, configuration, check out, and aircraft delivery to end customer
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor
  • Helps maintain company owned Supplemental Type Certificate(s) and approved designs
  • Interfaces and maintains good working relationships with vendors
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BSEE or BSEET) in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • 4 years minimum of Electrical/Systems Design experience in Aviation
  • NCATT certification is a plus
  • Exposure to aircraft modifications (AMT, repairman, A&P, etc), FAA and aircraft OEM standard practices, and FAA certification is highly desired
  • General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (14 CFR Part 21, 23, 25, 145)
  • FAA DER in Electrical Systems is preferred
  • Ability to work in and around the aircraft and tight spaces (avionics bays, etc)
  • Flexibility with shift work
  • Travel will be required (less than 20%)
  • Familiar with standard aircraft wiring practices and standard avionics shop practices
  • Familiarity with fabrication and/or install basic avionics and electrical systems in aircraft
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced in AutoCAD for electrical design
