The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to take care of the mental, emotional or behavioral disorders of Health Center Patients
- Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventions
- Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make adjustments as needed
- Provide crisis intervention as needed
- Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, nurses, social workers, to assess and adjust treatment plans
- Coordinate and communicate with case managers, family members and other stakeholders regarding treatment and care
- Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees
- Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement programs
