Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician (“QA Tech”) works closely with the Quality Manager to ensure the consistency and quality of our products. The QA Tech will follow through on set processes that conform to good manufacturing practices (“GMP”); food safety; and Safe Quality Food (“SQF”) standards and product quality standards.

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met prior to material processing
  • Ensures finished products meet company specification standards and are free of defects
  • Inspects and samples product to ensure that all products meet HACCP/HARPC guidelines
  • Operates in compliance with all Company SOPs
  • Participates in company compliance inspection discussions, recommends and implements corrective action plans when and if necessary
  • Works with QA and operations teams to develop and implement process improvement solutions
  • Maintains accurate documentation of quality inspection results
  • Reviews and confirms product specifications map to COAs
  • Creates packing slips and shipping labels in conformance with specifications
  • Participates in the creation and revision of SOPs, as needed

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Three years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Two years’ experience in quality assurance or quality control functions
  • Two years’ experience that involves product sampling and inspection procedures; works to resolve customer complaints
  • Participates in RCA and CAPA analyses
  • Creates and update written procedures in conjunction with operations personnel
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned and requested
