About the AMA and Job: 

Since 1924, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has protected the future of motorcycling and promoted the motorcycle lifestyle. AMA members come from all walks of life, and they navigate many different routes on their journey to the same destination - freedom on two wheels. 

The AMA is looking for a highly organized, self-motivated business support and social media specialist who will help support the sales and advertising team in gaining and maintaining relationships with advertisers and partners. This specialist will also be able collaborate with the communications department in social media strategy and content. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and enjoy a high level of communication between the team and other departments within the organization. A background in social media strategy and content is required. 

Job Description: 

The AMA Business Development Support/Social Media Specialist will aid the sales and communications department in the promotion of advertisers and sponsors for AMA programs and events. As well as help strategize and create content for the AMA social media presence across most social media platforms. This team member is critical to keeping projects moving forward through organization, task completion, follow up and excellent communication between the team and departments. 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate all advertising related activities, print and digital 

  • Coordinate and support sales and advertising teams in capturing new clients 

  • Maintain and update Print Production sheet 

  • Maintain and update Comp List, Master List and Target list as needed 

  • Attend client meetings and communications/creative team meetings 

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with advertisers and partners 

  • Coordinate with Business Development manager on partnership/sponsorship deliverables 

  • Oversee collection of advertising creative 

  • Assist the Business Development Manager with data collection 

  • Help the Business Development Manager develop sales decks for the AMA and all its properties/events 

  • Develop and maintain files related to sales/partnership/advertising programs and initiatives 

  • Help implement and manage the organization's social media strategy 

  • Optimize social media pages to increase content visibility 

  • Monitor social media engagement and suggest content optimization for improved performance 

  • Capture social data/metrics and insights to measure the success of social media campaigns 

  • Help manage social media content creation 

  • Help build and maintain editorial social media calendar 

  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies 

  • Work with the communications team to ensure content is informational and on- message 

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales and comms teams on social media initiatives 

  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization strategies 

  • Assistance with communications and sales/marketing newsletters 

  • Additional duties as assigned 

Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs): 

  • Knowledge and experience with the following software: 

  • Microsoft Office Suite, NetResults, Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics, Constant Contact, InDesign, Social Media Administration and Content Management System 

  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets 

  • Excellent Communication Skills, 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize projects as necessary 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Linkedln, lnstagram, TikTok, Twitter and other social media best practices 


  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, advertising, marketing or other related fields 

  • 1-3 years of professional experience preferred. Entry-level applicants will be considered 

  • Motorcycling experience preferred, but not required 

  • Position based in Pickerington, OH
