Position Summary
In a dual role, providing technology support to Woodland Pond residents in operation and setup of standard consumer technology devices and systems; answering and routing calls, greeting visitors, assisting residents and visitors with various tasks, office clerical work, handling emergencies, and providing support services to the administrative staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)

As Resident Technology Assistant (RTA)

  • Ensures that all tasks are logged and tracked on Worxhub *
  • Fills in as Concierge as needed and/or requested *
  • Provides assistance to WPNP residents with standard consumer electronic devices and systems *
  • Conducts NPCREE inventories and audits *
  • Communicates with residents to schedule services.
  • Interacts as needed with resident families to setup devices, explain needs, etc.
  • ALWAYS coaches and communicates to residents in a supportive, patient and understanding manner regardless of issue or event. *
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding information, data, and communication. *
  • Maintains WPNP facilities, equipment, and assigned work area in proper order.
  • Communicates regarding needs of supplies, tools, equipment, etc. on a timely basis
  • Willingness to adjust schedule as needs dictate
  • Get annual flu shot and remain compliant with all other WPNP and/or NYSDOH requirements for Nursing Home employees *

As Concierge

  • Answering multi line telephone system; routing calls, transferring calls, and taking messages (*CF)
  • Welcoming visitors; asking them to sign in and sign out, providing ID badges when necessary, alerting residents when their visitors arrive (*CF)
  • Handling Emergencies in a calm and composed manner; Calling 911 in the event of an emergency, reading the fire alarm panel, communicating with emergency personnel, residents, and staff during an emergency, activating quick message communication, contacting the Wellness Nurse if a resident has a physical emergency (*CF)
  • Entering work requests in Worxhub
  • Coordinating services for residents; transportation, dining reservations, guest room reservations, event ticket purchasing, package/mail distribution, activity sign up, housekeeping and maintenance requests, and other services as assigned (*CF)
  • Assisting Resident Services Director, Activities Coordinator and other department heads with clerical work as needed

As RTA and Concierge

  • Interacts and works with other departments as needed
  • Completes all required training and in-services
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Maintains high standards for work areas, attitude and appearance
  • Understands that honesty and ethics are essential in the performance of duties
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Maintains predictable and reliable attendance

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma, or HSE
  2. 1-3 years relevant working experience preferred
  3. Proficiency with computers and standard consumer technology
  4. Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population

Degree of travel

Frequent travel within building and throughout community

Disruption to Routine

Must adapt to frequent schedule changes, department workload, and resident needs.
