Title: Event Coordinator


Reports to: Director of Events & Operations


Overview of Position: The Event Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Events & Operations to ensure continuity of approach and messages within both internal and external fundraising events. The Event Coordinator will promote events to community, staff, and potential sponsors. Manage and market fundraising events working with the marketing team. The Coordinator will work directly with sponsors, volunteers and committees to ensure successful outcomes from events.



Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in achieving corporate event sponsorship goals; all in-kind solicitations for events
  • Coordinate key ongoing sponsor/donor relationships including 3rd party organizations that benefit the Center
  • Event liaison for all internal and 3rd party fundraising efforts
  • Manage event logistics, and the recruitment and management of key volunteer event staff. Major events include Gaybingo, Toast To Life, Back-To-School and Red Ribbon
  • This position should expect additional tasks as defined by the CDO (Chief Development Officer) and CEO
  • The Event Coordinator will maintain legal documents as directed by Texas Lottery Commission, including quarterly reporting


Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years experience in event and contract management  
  • 1-3 years  experience in creating and working with budgets
  • 1-3 years experience in recruiting and managing volunteers
  • 1-3 years experience in marketing and managing demographics
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Windows and fundraising software
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and delegate work to volunteers
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm for the services provided by Resource Center
  • Commitment and passion to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Available to work some nights and weekends
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Lifting Requirements: Up to 15 pounds
