Valuation Analyst

 

Pathway Capital Management, LP, a leading institutional investment management firm that creates and manages specialized private market solutions for institutional investors worldwide, is seeking a Valuation Analyst. Valuation analysts are primarily responsible for preparing valuations and reports for Pathway’s portfolio of direct equity and credit co-investments. Valuation analysts are members of the Valuation Team as well as the broader Co-investment Team.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Review direct equity and credit co-investment deal documents to determine valuation approach
  • Develop productive business relationships with private equity partners and portfolio company management to aggregate necessary valuation inputs
  • Prepare quarterly and annual valuations of private equity and private credit co-investments
  • Present quarterly and annual valuation reports to the Valuation Committee
  • Coordinate with investment professionals and fund accounting to satisfy various reporting requirements and deadlines
  • Prepare various reports on the broader co-investment portfolio for internal and external use

 

Requirements

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, or a related field with a record of high academic achievement
  • Between 2 – 3 years of analytical experience in consulting, audit, investment management, mergers and acquisitions, or other similar fields
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with an attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and writing skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that uses critical thinking to proactively enhance the valuation function
  • An interest in investments and capital markets
  • Proficiency in excel
  • An understanding of investment company accounting is preferred

 

Additional Considerations

 

  • Experience with private company valuations using industry accepted valuation methodologies such as DCF, Guideline Public Companies Approach, etc is preferred
  • Experience with S&P Capital IQ, LCD, Bloomberg, and Pitchbook preferred but not required
  • CPA or CFA preferred but not required
