We are seeking an Account Specialist who, under the general direction of the VP of Finance, is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and others within the department. The ideal candidate handles accounts payable, account receivable, and serves as the first point-of-contact for the accounting department.


Essential Job Requirements:

  • Verify invoices and other requests for payment for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorizations.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices and prepare checks.
  • Complete vendor setups and vendor communication.
  • Participates in physical inventory counts.
  • Post to ledgers, worksheets, and other financial records.
  • Prepare bank deposit slips and completes bank deposits.
  • Verifies petty cash and vending revenue monthly.
  • Monitor, manage, and post credit card transactions.
  • Complete customer setups and customer communication.
  • Prepares customer invoicing and follows up on past due balances.
  • Annual 1099 and 1096 filing.
  • Prepares sales tax filing.
  • Data organizing, filing, archiving, and copying.
  • Assists management and other team members in a variety of administrative matters.
  • Maintains Postage meter and Employee Lynx Tickets.
  • Prepares and mails bills or statements and maintains lists of accounts receivable.
  • Assist in month-end activities.
  • Participates in meetings, company activities, and events as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.




  • Associate Degree in the field of business or equivalent work experience.

License and/or Certification:

  • None Required.


  • Two plus years of experience and knowledge of basic accounting procedures. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and data entry.

Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:

  • Competency using Microsoft products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to meet all assigned deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter. Capable of effectively balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong professional communication skills with all contacts.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged sitting at workstation; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling.
  • Repetitive hand motion and movements; frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • Moderate ability to move and lift items, usually ranging up to 15 lbs.


  • Must pass Level II background check
  • Model and champion all organizational core values.


For employees living with visual impairments, you must provide documentation from a physician of legal blindness. Legal blindness is defined as: Central visual acuity does not exceed 20/200 in the better eye with correcting lenses OR whose visual acuity, if better than 20/200, is accompanied by a limit to the field of vision in the better eye to such a degree that its widest diameter subtends an angle no greater than 20 degrees.
