Description

  • Manufacturing and fabricating cabinets from raw materials on aircraft including wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers
  • Construct interior components to the customer’s specifications
  • Fabricates, fit, trims and installs interior components, galleys, bulk heads, doors, side ledges, tray and conference tables
  • Read and interpret blue prints and engineering drawings
  • Inspect and inventory incoming cabinetry for existing damage
  • Protect and tag all items using proper interior nomenclature for part identification
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals to complete all work 
  • Completes all associated paper work thoroughly and accurately for all work accomplished
  • Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Seeks methods to cross train to develop technical skills and business knowledge
  • Assist aircraft technicians when necessary
  • Ensure functional tests of all installed items is satisfactory
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Assist engineering staff and draftsmen to generate drawings and renderings
  • Work with DER’s to provide structural data when necessary

Qualifications

  • High school or GED
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in aviation cabinetmaking and fabrication preferred
  • Wood working or wood finishing experience in a technical environment
  • Cabinet installation experience including fit and trim preferred
  • Requires excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Clean driving record, ability to pass background check and achieve airport SIDA badge
