Food For Thought (FFT) is a nonprofit that provides comprehensive nutrition services to people in Sonoma County affected by serious medical conditions. Our services include weekly groceries, congregate meals, vitamins and supplements, and nutrition education. We are located in Forestville in a beautiful building surrounded by organic gardens. FFT operates with a staff of 31 and 600 volunteers. General Description
The Dietetic Technician is a member of a 5 person Client Services Department. This position assists in administering and evaluating client-centered agency programs. The Dietetic Technician works collaboratively with the other team members and operations staff to ensure that clients are well-served, engaged, and benefit from our services and reports to the Client Services and Nutrition Director.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes (mostly over the phone, but some in person) and orient new clients in the history, spirit, policies and procedures of the food bank
- Perform nutrition screening and refer to RDs as needed
- Implement special diets and supplemental nutrition for clients as advised by the Registered Dietitians
- Maintain electronic records including data entry, filing, and chart audits
- Advocate for client concerns and needs
- Case manage, track, and take grocery orders of special needs clients
- Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned
