3-5+ years of experience building web-based user interfaces in production environments.

Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and the React.js framework

Strong knowledge of Jest and Cypress (or similar) testing frameworks

Demonstrable experience using Next.js, and Node.js

Experience integrating with APIs in web-based products
-
Experience discussing the way a team works and the value the team delivers to our users and the organization

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
-
Interest in continuing to learn new technologies and willingness to integrate those into our product

Experience in Docker and docker-compose

Open-source mindset

Excellent understanding of Relational Databases (particularly PostgreSQL)

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, deployment strategies, security, and other DevOps concepts

Experience with user interface design and willingness to collaborate with our designers on a great solution

Experience in an agile environment

Able to work collaboratively with team members to identify and evaluate changes to team processes

Able to identify and suggest alternative solutions to meet short-term and long-term goals

Experience using data to make decisions and evaluate options

Experience with Nginx a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time. The Art of Education University is an online university therefore 95-98% of ones time will be on or using technology.

Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.

Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

The Process
For most roles, the process is as follows:

Step 1: ~30-minute phone interview with hiring manager

Step 2: Round 2 packet & Interview

Given that this role works remotely, we want to see how you would work through some of the daily tasks, responsibilities, and challenges you might come across through a day-in-the-life. You will be given a prompt and be asked to complete to guide a ~1 hour follow-up Zoom interview with 1-2 stakeholders. The intention is for you to get a sense of the role and give us an opportunity to see your skills in action. Your answers will not be used for any other purposes beyond evaluating your candidacy for this role, as it's important for both of us to get a glimpse of how you would handle a day-in-the-life of this role.
