Illinois College invites applications for a Designer/Technical Director for the academic year 2022-23. This is a 75%, 9-month appointment, benefits-eligible position, beginning August 2022. This position requires a generalist who will teach introductory Stagecrafts class each semester and design/manage construction/direct all technical needs for one faculty-directed show each semester and 2-4 student-directed one acts. Position entails supervision of student workers in the shop. The successful candidate will gain extensive professional experience in all areas of theatrical design, production, and student mentoring.

Qualifications include experience in both design and technical direction at the college or professional level, and commitment to teaching students in a liberal arts context. MFA in technical direction/production with emphasis in scenic design preferred; equivalent experience considered. Recent MFAs are encouraged to apply.
