Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform full cycle Human Resources responsibilities for our Jackson, MI plant: employee relations, recruitment (both union and non-union), on boarding, mentoring, performance management, organizational development and training, workmens compensation management/safety etc.
  • Ensure that HR policies and processes are administered consistently across business location
  • Conduct investigations in employee and customer situations, including but not limited to, harassment, discrimination, and violation of company policies
  • Facilitate employee relations issues as needed; provide coaching and conflict resolution to managers and employees
  • Record and manage employee information such as, but not limited to, personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance evaluations and termination information
  • Manage safety program, including committee, audits, reporting and tracking incidents to closure
  • Compile data and key performance metrics; develop reports and presentations
  • Labor relations, including handling grievances and negotiations
  • Coordinate apprentice program
  • Manage local HR Coordinator to ensure efficient operations
  • Administer employee engagement activities
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related business degree
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive Human Resources experience in manufacturing required
  • Prior union experience preferred
  • PHR/SPHR highly desirable
  • Prior HRIS experience, PayCom experience is ideal
