Role & Responsibilities

Perform diversified manual and mechanical duties to set up and operate printing presses of moderate complexity. Duties include but are not limited to determining job requirement, setting up and operating press, change overs, routine press maintenance, and other similar duties pertaining to press operations.

Coordinate raw materials, plates, and necessary components for job requirements. Must be able to independently operate a printing press.

Job Duties

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees and customers and comply with organizational and OSHA safety standards, procedures, and regulations. Adhere to all company safety guidelines including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate with shift supervisor, co-workers, and other departments for any outstanding manufacturing, packing or shipping issues.
  • Review order for details and specifications including specified footages and size. Review all raw material, plates, anilox rolls, and ink prior to beginning the print job.
  • Adjust to achieve proper registration, tension, and centering rolls. Review and approve sets performed by press assistant.
  • Continuously check press run, ink viscosity, print quality and quality of production run. Take samples at required intervals and record information for each job. Document and record (data entry) all aspects of the production run. Prepare daily job sheet.
  • Once current job is finished, remove all components, clean the press, and return all equipment to designated areas.
  • Maintain work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • More than 2 years experience in print manufacturing.
  • The ability to read, understand, and apply job specifications.
  • Understand all areas of recorded information and accurately enter the information into the computer system.
  • The ability to maneuver raw materials, inks, and finished goods within the production area.
  • Ability to lift, twist, turn, bend, squat, and reach, sometimes in small or tight areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
