JOB TITLE:  AV Manager



STATUS: Regular, Full-Time – Hourly Non-Exempt

LOCATION:  Petersburg, KY



The AV Manager at Answers in Genesis provides leadership and management of AV staff and technical systems utilized throughout the Creation Museum. With the main goal of providing audio and visual technology service and support for Answers in Genesis, the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. The AV Manager is responsible for live event support, technical support, and implementation of new technology throughout all Answers in Genesis facilities. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.   • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all AV racks, equipment, work areas, and equipment storage areas.
  • Support daily Museum/Ark operations and ensure equipment maintenance is performed properly and timely.
  • Help with development and maintenance of the software systems related to AV Services within the ministry.
  • Assist with designs, budgeting, and installation of all new AVL systems
  • Works closely with the Production Planner/ Scheduler for purchasing of daily consumables
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  • Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
  • Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset
  • Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments
  • (For leadership positions) Oversee and promote the spiritual, personal, and professional development of all team members being led
  • And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Organizational skills: Provides oversight of schedules, maintenance, daily ops, and event production.
  • A flexible schedule is a must as the A/V Manager may need to be available for before and after normal hours A/V support.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs. and able to climb ladders.
  • Problem-solving skills: ability to multitask and think quickly under pressure.
  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.


Education & Experience

  • A Minimum of 2 years of live production support: sound, lighting, video
  • A minimum of 3 years of facility Audio/Visual installation & maintenance experience
  • Experience with Alcorn McBride, Crestron, and Christie Digital Projectors preferred
  • Experience with Dante, Q-sys, ETC lighting consoles
  • Experience with Barco and Ross Video Switching a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with servers, switches and networking is a plus
  • Any formal AV related training is a benefit
