As our Assistant Superintendent, you won't just be overseeing the usual suspects like tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, cart paths, and the rough; you'll be an integral part of bringing our vision to life. Picture yourself not only supervising the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment but also ensuring our pristine golf haven stays untouched by pest infestations or disease outbreaks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages turf maintenance
  • Completes frequent disease scouting
  • Completes frequent irrigation monitoring
  • Help promote player satisfaction through quality maintenance and communications
  • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with recommendations regarding personnel matters such as wages, reviews, warnings, and terminations.
  • Oversees the cleanliness of the golf course and club grounds
  • Helps operate this department within all company, county, state, and federal regulations and guidelines
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems
  • Help schedule and supervise the daily operations of the maintenance crew
  • Apply the proper application of pesticides and fertilizers
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in turf management preferred
  • At least five years’ experience in turf care preferred
  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
  • Ability to read write and speak, and communicate in basic English
  • Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) certification

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
  • Knowledge of Pesticide use
  • Intensive knowledge of irrigation, pest/ disease monitoring
  • Ability to lead a team efficiently and effectively

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, bend and stoop

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly Outdoor
  • Exposure to extreme heat or cold, depending on the season
  • Exposure to the weather elements
  • Exposure to dangerous pesticides
