Description

The IT/AVL Systems Technician has a primary responsibility to support IT helpdesk with tasks like troubleshooting issues, answering basic technical queries and providing solutions, maintaining device logs, and maintaining software and platforms. In addition, this position will cross-training with the AVL Engineers and assist the team with preparation and execution of all tech needs. This includes but is not limited to assisting with audio, lighting, and production needs of the church.

Specialty Job Functions

  • Development of network resource components in accordance with the Production/IT Manager
  • Network Management
  • Resource Deployment: staff laptops, ipads, printers, phones
  • Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner
  • Respond to customer issues via phone, email and computer chat
  • Run diagnostics to resolve customer reported issues
  • Install, make changes, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks
  • Stay current with system information, changes and updates
  • Help update training manuals for new and revised software and hardware
  • Hardware support: laptops, iPads, printers, office phones
  • Train computer users as necessary
  • Maintain, storage solutions, and overall management of GC owned computers and related equipment
  • Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, and other peripheral IT-based equipment
  • Prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, and manage Check-In services

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with the set-up of the Sanctuary and Chapel venues for Sunday services and any special events
  • Pre-service check of all gear before Sunday or special events
  • Be a utility team member for audio/visual projects and tasks
  • Assisted the team in testing equipment to determine technical quality
  • Assisting with the tech and production needs of the Youth and Childrens ministries
  • Maintaining audio/visual equipment in the Chapel, Youth, and Childrens rooms
  • Assist in maintaining, trouble-shoot, install, and dream creative solutions for technology needs
  • Effectively communicates with staff members
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the IT/Production Manager

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of PC and/or MAC environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
  • Working knowledge of Unifi/ Ubiquiti access points, firewall, and controller
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Ability to focus on clients need and to handle rejection of proposed ideas
  • Must demonstrate flexibility in dealing with high pressure situations and last minute requests
  • Pays close attention to detail and is deadline-oriented
  • Readiness, prepared and driven to learn at a high rate
  • Be able to lift 75lbs, be on your feet and be ok with heights
  • Continual development of technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, books, web tutorials, and by continually self-educating on industry terminology and standards
