JOB TITLE:    Supervisor, Public Safety Dispatch


Reports to:  Chief, Public Safety



Summary:   This position is responsible for duties as they relate to the operation of the Security Console/Office for the safety and protection of AiG and Creation Museum guests, staff, volunteers, and property. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring CCTV, access control and alarms systems, radio dispatch and other communications, issuing company ID’s and parking passes, key control, administrative roles pertaining to dispatchers and any other duties deemed necessary.




  1. Must be alert at all times while staffing the Security Console.
  2. Maintain communication with other security personnel.
  3. Must enforce organization and museum policies and procedures as they relate to safety, security and fire safety.
  4. Report any situation that requires service to the museum that may affect the guest experience.
  5. Coordinate communication and response to any emergency situation.
  6. Document unusual or reported incidents.
  7. Assist in guest relation functions.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
  9. Administrative functions as they pertain to the position.
  10. Scheduling of dispatchers for daily operations and special events.
  11. Issuance of company ID’s and parking passes.
  12. And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.




  1. Submit all required paperwork to the Human Resources Department.
  2. Experience with computer systems and proficient in the use of Microsoft office.
  3. Must be able to professionally interact with wide variety of individuals.
  4. Must possess time management and prioritization skills.
  5. Must have the ability to learn different electronic security and fire safety systems.
  6. Must exhibit strong communication skills (verbal and written), especially in the area of telephone and radio operations.
  7. Must embrace the team concept.
  8. Must have good problem solving skills and the ability to think “outside the box” for solutions.
  9. Must have the ability to work under pressure and multi-task in rapid escalating situations.
  10. Must have good public relations and diplomatic skills.
  11. Position requires a flexible work schedule.
  12. Typical physical demands include sitting for long periods of time.






Education & Experience

  1. High school diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree a plus)
  2. Experience dispatching or working in a similar environment, such as police, security, or EMS.
