The Senior Systems Engineer will be a proactive, customer-focused advocate and a strategist with meaningful experience across multiple technology areas. They will provide enterprise-level architecture design and implementation expertise. The Engineer will also be intrinsically involved in new cloud and infrastructure projects including planning, deployment, and management. The Engineer will work closely with the various IT teams and other business departments to research and recommend IT solutions to solve business problems.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Maintain and design essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, network equipment, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and other hardware.
  • Take the Lead for infrastructure projects and solutions within the firm.
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes, and develop automated tasks.
  • Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Design and investigate faults in the network.
  • Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed.
  • Research and analyze server solutions, emerging trends and changes in business needs; while, identifying new areas of opportunity and evolving the strategic technology direction accordingly.
  • Participate in evaluations of infrastructure and network systems to ensure designs meet applicable cybersecurity specifications.
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 7+ years of experience as a system admin/engineer or with network design and architecture
  • Experience with documenting Infrastructure architecture and developing standards
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages (PowerShell or Python)
  • Windows Server Experience (AD, Group Policy, Image deployments, Veeam/backup systems, SQL ,IIS, VMware and VxRail if possible, DR experience)
  • Networking experience  (Switching routing and firewalls) Route 53 , Palo alto Firewalls, Meraki, Cisco, Dell, Ruckus, Brocade, but open to all network experience

 

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • iManage experience
  • Experience with the following applications: Aderant, Relativity, SQL Administrations
  • Additional application we use: Horizon, Zoom (voip and meetings), Azure AD/Entra, Office 365, Mimecast, dark trace, Sophos, Forcepoint, tenable ,ViRecruit, PDQ, SCCM, WSUS, Smart Deploy, Kaseya , Global Protect, Solarwinds, Windows Servers: DHCP, DNS, Print Servers, DC, IIS, Certificate Management and NPS , File and SQL Clusters
  • Law Firm Experience
  • Cyber Security experience

 

Location: 5 days onsite until 90-day probation, then Hybrid (Century City). COVID vaccination required!

 

Salary: $135k -$145k base plus excellent package on offer including insurance and performance-related bonuses. The base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience as a system admin/engineer or with network design and architecture
  • Experience with documenting Infrastructure architecture and developing standards
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages (PowerShell or Python)
  • Windows Server Experience (AD, Group Policy, Image deployments, Veeam/backup systems, SQL ,IIS, VMware and VxRail if possible, DR experience)
  • Networking experience  (Switching routing and firewalls) Route 53 , Palo alto Firewalls, Meraki, Cisco, Dell, Ruckus, Brocade, but open to all network experience
  • Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Collaborative attitude and mindset with proven experience in effectively communicating and collaborating with business stakeholders, executives and technical staff
  • Prior law firm experience and specifically iManage experience is strongly desired

Full COVID-19 vaccination required for employment

The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including, but not limited to the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and experience in the legal industry. As of the date of posting, JMBM reasonably expects to pay between $135k and $145k for this position.
