Position Summary

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse reports to the Ambulatory Care Unit Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct care to patients in the Ambulatory Care Unit. This position performs a variety of technical and nursing functions under direct supervision of an Registered Nurse.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Provide post-procedure care to patients
  • Monitors and provide care to patients in the post-procedure area, including discharge instruction and care, as needed
  • Assist in achieving quality patient care, national patient safety goals, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients, patient families, physicians, coworkers, volunteers, community partners, and vendors
  • Strive to improve and facilitate patient care and satisfaction supported with evidenced based practices
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques and demonstrate initiative to overcome challenges

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR, required. ACLS within 3 months of hire, required. PALS within 6 months of hire, required. Annual dysrhythmia, required.
  • Experience: Previous nursing experience, preferred.

Work Environment: This position spends 90% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position spends 10% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position serves a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population This position will be exposed to body fluids, radiation, and communicable disease.
