Auberle is a nationally recognized, award winning human service organization that serves thousands of children and families each year. For more than 60 years we have helped troubled children and their families heal themselves. Auberle is a faith-based entity dedicated to delivering excellent care that is rooted in trauma informed practices.

Auberle-Ward Home provides Supervised Independent Living (SIL) program (Wilkinsburg) to teen girls ages 16-20.  The goal is to teach "practical life skills" to help the teens grow towards adulthood, empowered to live independently as effective, successful, contributing members of the community.

Our staff is comprised of passionate individuals who are committed to finding the most innovative ways to solve our community’s most difficult problems. We know that we deliver impact to our region because we measure everything that we do. We offer 20 programs to at-risk children and families. We are seeking creative, caring individuals to fill immediate openings for full-time/part-time Direct Care Specialists in our Residential and Ward Home Programs.

Direct Care Specialist's primary responsibilities are to provide supervision and case management to teens in the program.  Oversee short and long term goals and objectives as identified for each teen and provides routine day-to-day direction to ensure the well-being and safety of the teens.  The ideal candidate will be a trauma-informed individual that is compassionate and dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk teens.  Direct Care Specialist's develop appropriate relationships with teens, provide a positive role model and supervise teens in all routines to ensure safety and well-being.

This position requires a High School Diploma (or GED) and experience working with children and youth. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are mandatory. Must be 21 years of age or older and required to apply for Act 33/34 clearances (criminal and child abuse) as well as FBI clearance. Pre-employment drug screening and random employment drug testing required.
