Data Analyst
Position Description

Andrews McMeel Universals Digital Team is looking for a DATA ANALYST to serve as the gatekeeper for the digital organizations data. This role collects, processes, and performs statistical analyses on datasets. The role also requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal departments as well as with creators and third-party contributors. But this job involves more than just numbers: we are looking for a person who knows how to use data to enable informed and insightful decisions and deliver exceptional business results.



Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Provide support by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data based on the needs of end users
  • Administer Google Analytics, demonstrating knowledge of the instrumentation inside and out
  • Run reporting across large groups of multiple products
  • Prepare product-based analytics
  • Prepare marketing-based analytics
  • Collaborate with operations team on ad-based reporting
  • Lead first party research (qualitative and quantitative) by managing, setting up, analyzing, and reporting
  • Stay up to date on relevant third-party research and disseminate to team
  • Determine best practices and develop actionable insights (or recommendations) for the current business operations
  • Collaborate with functional teams such as marketing, product, production, and development to identify analytical requirements to achieve goals
  • Learn continuously and stay abreast of technological advances

  • Works effectively as a team, takes direction well and delivers solution with minimal oversight


  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or logic-driven field (such as Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics)
  • 5 or more years of experience in data analysis
  • Advanced understanding of Google Analytics
  • Proficient in data visualization and developing dashboards (with knowledge of a visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or MicroStrategy)
  • Preferred: working knowledge of Python (or script language).
